ROTARY IS A GREEN TEAM!
Going green is easy to do as a team!
This summer Rotary Summer Literacy is going SO green we will be COMPLETELY paperless after this week! You heard that correctly, no more paper. We printed off the last hard-copy registration forms that will be available for the summer yesterday (there are 200 don't worry) and from now on everything will be electronic.
Session reminders, daily attendance lists, master lists, even some activities at camp that we used to complete on paper will now be electronic! Only the arts & crafts, and animation paper will be coming along with us to Wever!
Reusable water bottles and recycling (and don't forget that new green space) will be highlights to look out for this summer!
Keep your eyes peeled and your conservationist thoughts turning, and let us know if you think up any other ways we can all GO GREEN @ SUMMER LITERACY!

Community Circle Time!
As we have mentioned before, at Summer Literacy we love to think, pair and share community circle style! A community circle is a safe environment where all members have a right to participate in a discussion and share, or pass.
Today, we would like to talk about school... What are you doing at school in the next week that you are most excited for? Any fun "play days" or trips planned? Let us know! We want to know how you're starting off your summer before camp!

Learning & Literacy
When we read we can learn a lot about ourselves and life itself! We know that here at Rotary Summer Literacy, we have. For example, let's take a peak at some life lessons offered to us from a familiar author Dr. Seuss...
“I'm afraid that sometimes you'll play lonely games too. Games you can't win 'cause you'll play against you.”
― Dr. Seuss
"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...”
― Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You'll Go!
“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”
― Dr. Seuss, Happy Birthday to You!
We want to share a community circle experience with you this morning - what is a lesson you have learned from a book you read? How did it change your outlook on life or a situation you were immersed in?

The Power of Literacy
At Rotary Summer Literacy we believe every child deserves to enjoy an unforgettable camp experience. We believe in the power of literacy and the knowledge it can convey. We believe that by partaking in our program your children will not only have an amazing summer, but will also improve, and if not, then maintain, their literacy skills over the summer months!
Come see us at Rotary Summer Literacy this summer... because your great experience makes our summer better!
